We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

Business: Asia & Middle East Technology

Principal Responsibilities

You will perform the following duties within HK TECK Front-to-Back technology delivery and governance:

Requirements and delivery (across teams/projects)

• Partner with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to shape requirements and create actionable product/technical backlogs
• Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and delivery plans suitable for global rollout
• Ensure requirements are well understood and the backlog is balanced to deliver value while avoiding unnecessary technical debt
• Collect and analyse feedback from users, stakeholders, and engineering teams to refine technical requirements and the roadmap

Front-to-back solution consistency and engineering standards

• Drive consistent design and engineering practices across multiple projects (front end, back end, APIs, integrations, operational readiness)
• Participate in architecture and solution reviews to ensure alignment with HSBC standards (security, performance, resilience, maintainability)
• Promote reuse and standardisation (shared components, API contracts, logging/monitoring/alerting standards) to improve delivery efficiency

DevOps, CI/CD and engineering productivity

• Work in an agile environment with rapid iteration and release; advocate a strong DevOps culture (“you build it, you run it”)
• Establish and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and quality gates (automated testing, scanning, artefact management, release controls)
• Strengthen observability (logs/metrics/traces) and operational readiness (runbooks, support model, on-call readiness)

Global collaboration

• Collaborate effectively in a global, multicultural team and support delivery across time zones when required

Requirements

• Strong analytical skills to understand and resolve complex technical problems
• Strong hands-on experience in React, C#, Java Spring Boot, and solid API design/integration experience
• Front-end engineering and cloud enablement experience (e.g., AWS) with an understanding of cloud delivery and operational practices
• Proven experience implementing engineering governance and security hygiene, including:
• Risk and control strength (resilience, compliance, financial crime risk management) governance
• Dependency management and vulnerability remediation
• Patching execution and evergreen (technology currency) management
• Ability to learn, explore, and implement new and emerging technologies quickly to meet business needs
• Strong business awareness and stakeholder management skills; able to drive alignment across multiple teams
• Flexibility to work with colleagues across different time zones as needed
