About The Role

Cranium builds products to secure AI. We develop cutting edge AI/ML methods that push the state of the art in the field. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key member of the engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining the core platform of the Cranium architecture. Your work will focus on building scalable, multi-tenant systems that detect and monitor how AI is used across enterprise environments. You'll work primarily with our backend platform and cloud infrastructure, collaborating with frontend engineers, machine learning engineers, and product managers to deliver robust solutions to our enterprise customers.

As a Senior Software Engineer you will:

· Design, develop, and maintain scalable multi-tenant platform services and APIs within Azure and other cloud platforms

· Work with machine learning engineers and product managers to develop backend services that power our AI security features

· Implement and maintain containerized applications using Kubernetes and related orchestration technologies

· Contribute to database design and optimization for high-volume enterprise workloads

· Leverage AI-assisted development workflows and code generation tools to build enterprise-grade software

· Support customers through technical issues, escalations, and feature requests in collaboration with the customer success team

· Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality adheres to best practices

· Balance new feature development with platform maintenance and refactoring efforts

Who You Are:

· Customer-focused — you start from the problem the customer is trying to solve and measure your work by whether it actually helps them

· Willing to put your ego aside — you care more about the best outcome than being right, welcome feedback, and give credit generously

· Collaborative and low-drama — you work well across engineering squads, product, and customer success, and raise issues directly and constructively

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field

· 5+ years of professional software engineering experience

· Strong experience with C# and .NET Core in production environments

· Strong experience with Python for production application development

· Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP equally valued)

· Experience developing software with AI-assisted workflows and code generation tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor), and a track record of using them to ship real, enterprise-grade code

· Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms

· Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)

· Familiarity with Agile or similar project management methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

· Proven track record of building and delivering enterprise SaaS solutions at scale

· Experience building multi-tenant applications with strong tenant isolation and scalability

· Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, CosmoDB)

· Experience with containerization beyond Kubernetes (Docker, container registries, deployment patterns)

· Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation)

· Experience with queue and cache services (Redis, Memcached, Azure Service Bus)

· Background in designing secure, highly available, and fault-tolerant distributed systems

· Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and strong algorithmic thinking

· Strong analytical skills with ability to tie technical decisions to business impact

· Commitment to staying current with cloud security best practices

· Deep familiarity with AI code generation and agentic development tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor), including prompting patterns and knowing when to trust or verify their output

Technologies we use:

· Languages: C#, .NET Core, Python

· Cloud: Azure (primary), AWS, GCP

· Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, ARM templates

· Storage & messaging: SQL Server, CosmosDB, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, Memcached, Azure Service Bus
