Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a leading medical device organization developing innovative robotics and enabling technologies. In this role, you will develop foundational software components used across pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative clinical applications.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role requiring strong technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions while ensuring software meets functional requirements, technical specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about building reliable software that supports cutting-edge medical technology.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain shared software components using C++ and Qt in a Linux environment.
• Build reusable data management components that integrate across multiple clinical software applications.
• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including:
• Code reviews, documentation, integration, unit testing, defect resolution, code analysis.
• Ensure software components meet functional requirements, design specifications, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, remove blockers, and deliver project milestones.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and progress updates.
• Present project updates and milestone achievements as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience developing applications in C++.
• Experience with the Qt framework.
• Professional experience developing in a Linux environment.
• Experience with Python scripting and automation.
• Working knowledge of SQL and SQLite.
• Experience designing and managing data models, schemas, and database architecture.
• Familiarity with data serialization formats such as JSON.
• Experience using version control systems (Git or similar).
• Knowledge of CI/CD development practices.
• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotics or medical device software.
• Knowledge of 3D geometry, visualization, or graphics development.
• Experience with CAD modeling or mesh processing.
• Experience developing reusable software components for complex engineering applications.
