Compensation: $130,000–$145,000, commensurate with experience

Overview

We're seeking an accomplished Software Developer to provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise in the design, development, and modernization of enterprise systems. This role combines advanced technical execution with architectural decision-making, guiding development teams toward scalable, secure, and sustainable solutions.

The Principal Software Developer serves as both an individual contributor and senior technical authority—designing system architecture, mentoring developers, and influencing engineering best practices across teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical resource within an Agile, cross-functional development team.
• Lead the design and implementation of complex system features aligned with business objectives and enterprise architecture.
• Provide technical guidance through code reviews, pair programming, and mentorship.
• Collaborate with Product and QA teams to ensure feature alignment, quality, and long-term scalability.
• Architect, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and system integrations.
• Design and optimize high-performing, reliable data storage solutions using SQL and cloud technologies.
• Promote engineering best practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and secure coding standards.
• Maintain a security-first mindset throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Drive proactive problem-solving and collaborate across teams to remove technical roadblocks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, standards, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 10+ years of software development experience with a strong emphasis on C# and .NET.
• At least 3 years of experience serving in a Senior or Principal-level technical capacity.
• Deep expertise in enterprise application design, RESTful APIs, and systems integration.
• Proven experience designing and deploying cloud-native services (serverless computing, messaging, storage, logging), preferably within Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of both monolithic and microservices architectures.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and communication skills.
• Experience collaborating across multiple Agile teams on large-scale enterprise initiatives.
• Experience with ASP.NET MVC, .NET Core, and modern front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or TypeScript is preferred.
