We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a global healthcare technology team developing next-generation intelligent solutions for Ultrasound Systems. In this role, you'll combine hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, driving architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and delivering innovative solutions that make a real impact on patient care worldwide.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, documentation, testing, and verification of complex software modules
- Act as a technical lead for a small team of software engineers, providing guidance and mentoring
- Drive architecture and technical direction for Windows-based applications and integration solutions
- Develop software using C++, C#, WPF, WinForms, COM, AppAPI, Visual Studio, and MSBuild
- Champion engineering best practices including TDD, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, coding standards, and documentation
- Lead Agile activities including sprint planning, execution, retrospectives, task breakdown, and validation strategies
- Coordinate with local and international teams, translating requirements into technical solutions and delivery plans
- Provide regular updates on technical progress, risks, and project status to stakeholders and management
- Ensure software quality, maintainability, and compliance within a regulated healthcare environment
- Contribute to projects involving scanner applications, developer tools, streaming clients, Python clients, and software integrations
What we're looking for
- BSc, MSc, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong programming skills in C++ and C#
- Hands-on experience with Windows desktop development, including Visual Studio, MSBuild, WPF, and WinForms
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, pull request-based workflows, automated testing, and technical documentation
- Experience building and integrating DLLs, LIBs, and C-style APIs in Windows environments
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software engineering best practices
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Previous experience mentoring engineers and owning technical delivery
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken
Nice to have
- Experience with WPF, WinForms, MFC, COM, and AppAPI
- Experience with Python and mixed C++/Python applications
- Experience in medical device software development or other highly regulated industries
- Knowledge of imaging technologies, ultrasound systems, image processing, DICOMWeb, streaming solutions, or archive/viewer workflows
- Experience with AI-powered solutions and AI-assisted development
- German language skills
