Principal Engineer

We're looking for a Principal Engineer to serve as the technical cornerstone of our engineering organization. You'll own the technical roadmap, mentor talented engineers, partner with clinical and operations leaders, and bring AI solutions from whiteboard concept through production deployment. What You'll Do

Technical Leadership

• Serve as the technical authority on the engineering team, owning architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy
• Conduct code reviews and establish coding standards that ensure quality, scalability, and maintainability across the codebase
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies, frameworks, and AI tools that improve team output and product quality

AI Development & Strategy

• Identify opportunities across clinics where AI can improve clinical workflows, operational efficiency, and patient experience
• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions end-to-end — from concept and architecture through production rollout
• Stay current on emerging AI technologies and assess their applicability to healthcare use cases
• Develop a roadmap for AI adoption

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with clinical, operations, and administrative leaders to understand business problems and deliver technology solutions
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical stakeholders at every level
• Act as the bridge between engineering and business units — fostering alignment and shared ownership across states and functions

Team Development

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to senior engineers, raising the ceiling of what the team can deliver
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and engineering excellence
• Contribute to hiring decisions and help grow the engineering team over time

Delivery & Process

• Drive agile practices and ensure consistent, predictable delivery of technology products
• Own technical documentation, system design, and architecture decision records
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and cross-functional project planning

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with demonstrated growth to senior/lead/principal scope
• Highly proficient in C# and .NET, including ASP.NET development
• Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS; comfortable across the full web stack
• Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or React
• Strong SQL skills with experience optimizing queries for performance and real-time use cases
• Proven ability to architect and deliver production-grade AI/ML solutions
• Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare data privacy requirements (or strong willingness to learn)

Nice to Have

• Experience in healthcare technology, clinical operations, or regulated industries
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks, LLM tooling, or generative AI application development
• Track record of mentoring engineers and driving engineering culture initiatives
• Experience in multi-site or distributed healthcare organizations

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
