Software Engineer (C++ or C#/.NET) – Dublin
Radley James is working with a leading quantitative trading firm in Dublin that is looking to hire experienced Software Engineers with strong expertise in either C++ or C#/.NET.
You'll join a highly collaborative technology team working alongside quantitative researchers, traders, and infrastructure engineers to build the systems that power automated trading strategies across global financial markets. This is an opportunity to work on business-critical, high-performance applications in an environment where technology has a direct impact on trading outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust software applications using either C++ or C#/.NET.
- Collaborate closely with traders, quantitative researchers, and fellow engineers to deliver innovative solutions.
- Build scalable, resilient, and high-performance systems.
- Take ownership throughout the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through to production support.
- Analyse, troubleshoot, and optimise complex systems to improve reliability, performance, and efficiency.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and the long-term evolution of key technology platforms.
Requirements
- Commercial experience developing software in either C++ or C#/.NET.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including system design, debugging, and problem solving.
- Experience working with distributed, high-throughput, or business-critical systems.
- Familiarity with modern development practices, including version control and CI/CD workflows.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience within financial markets, trading, or other performance-sensitive environments.
- Knowledge of multithreading, networking, distributed systems, or performance optimisation.
- Experience with Python, cloud technologies, containers, or monitoring tools.
- Exposure to low-latency systems or high-performance infrastructure.
