Full Stack Principal Engineer

📍 Houston, TX (Northwest Houston Area)

🏢 Fully Onsite

💰 $130,000 – $140,000 Base Salary

🕒 Full-Time | 5–8 Years Experience

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with an established and growing organization in the food service industry seeking a Full Stack Principal Engineer to lead the design, development, and modernization of mission-critical business applications.

This is a highly visible role that combines hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, allowing you to shape architecture decisions, establish development standards, mentor engineers, and deliver scalable enterprise solutions that directly impact business operations.

You'll work across a portfolio of internally developed applications supporting both customer-facing and operational business functions while helping drive modernization initiatives throughout the organization.

What You'll Be Doing

Technical Leadership & Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise web applications using modern Microsoft technologies.
  • Lead architecture discussions and drive best practices across development teams.
  • Build scalable front-end and back-end solutions utilizing modern development patterns.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor fellow developers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and system issues.

Architecture & Governance

  • Establish software development standards, governance frameworks, and development best practices.
  • Drive SDLC and change management processes across application teams.
  • Collaborate with technology leadership to align solutions with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Improve development workflows through automation, CI/CD, and DevOps methodologies.

Business & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, architecture, and security teams to deliver reliable and scalable applications.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor, communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Innovation & Modernization

  • Modernize legacy applications and improve overall platform performance.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend new solutions.
  • Champion DevOps, automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional .NET development experience.
  • Proven experience building scalable, high-performance enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of application architecture, software design principles, and cloud-native development.
  • Experience with containerization and service-oriented architectures.
  • Front-end development experience using Angular.
  • Ability to balance technical leadership responsibilities with hands-on development work.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
