Full-Stack Software Engineer (.NET & Azure Cloud)
(contract and full-time, hybrid positions available)
About the Role
We are looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer with a strong foundation in .NET and Azure Cloud environments to join our embedded Scrum team. In this role, you will design, build, and deploy scalable enterprise features while championing robust secure-coding practices.
While you are a developer at heart, you possess a strong interest or background in cybersecurity—meaning you don't just find vulnerabilities, you actively write the secure code and infrastructure policies to fix and prevent them.
Key Responsibilities
🛠️ Full-Stack .NET Development
- Feature Delivery: Build and maintain scalable, multi-tenant enterprise features across our stack (C# / .NET APIs, microservices, and modern JavaScript front-ends).
- Database & Architecture: Optimize MS SQL Server databases and work across both legacy and modern cloud architectures.
- Agile Collaboration: Fully participate in Scrum ceremonies, shipping high-quality code through PR-based workflows.
☁️ Azure Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering
- Cloud Architecture: Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure solutions natively on Microsoft Azure.
- Automation & CI/CD: Build automated deployment pipelines using Azure Pipelines or GitHub Actions, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) via Terraform or Bicep.
- Cloud Hardening: Partner with DevOps/SRE teams to implement secure IAM practices, secrets management (Key Vault), and baseline network controls.
🛡️ Application Security & Remediation (Preferred Focus)
- Hands-on Patching: Take a "doer" approach to security by directly triaging and fixing vulnerabilities identified in code and cloud configurations.
- Secure Engineering: Implement preventive guardrails (e.g., input handling, CSRF defenses, secure headers) using the OWASP Top 10 framework as a guide.
- Security Integration: Help optimize automated scanning tools (SAST/DAST like Snyk, Invicti, Mend) directly into the CI/CD pipeline.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on software development experience with a heavy focus on the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Core Back-End: Strong proficiency in .NET / C# (APIs, services, web applications) and MS SQL Server.
- Front-End Development: Solid experience with Angular, TypeScript, or React.
- DevOps & IaC: Practical experience with Terraform, PowerShell/Bash, and CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions).
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications (Cybersecurity Focus)
- AppSec/Cloud Security: Direct experience remediating security vulnerabilities in application code and cloud infrastructure.
- Security Tooling: Familiarity operating or addressing findings from scanning tools like Snyk, Invicti, Mend, or Azure Guardrails.
- Secure Design: Good understanding of web security fundamentals (OAuth/SSO patterns, TLS, WAF, and network segmentation).
- Bonus Tech: Experience with Python or Azure Logic Apps.
What Success Looks Like
- High-Quality Delivery: Core features and APIs are shipped on time, built on top of robust, clean, and secure code.
- Automated & Secure Pipelines: Code deploys smoothly through CI/CD pipelines that handle automated testing and basic security gating efficiently.
- Proactive Security: Late-stage security vulnerabilities drop significantly because security practices are baked directly into your daily development workflow.
