Team Overview

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Full Stack Developer to join a newly formed engineering team in Costa Rica, supporting TransUnion’s global platforms. The team is responsible for the ongoing development, enhancement, and operational support of the TUCP Portal, a critical global platform that supports TransUnion users worldwide. Team members collaborate closely with partners across the United States, India, and Costa Rica to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that drive business value and operational excellence. This role reports to the Sr. Director, Web Development. This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

This role exists to support the stability, enhancement, and continuous evolution of TransUnion's global TUCP Portal. The Full Stack Developer will contribute to the delivery of new features, platform improvements, and operational excellence while ensuring a high-quality user experience globally. In addition to software development responsibilities, this individual will provide advanced application support for issues escalated beyond Level 1 (L1) and Level 2 (L2) support teams, helping minimize business impact and improve platform reliability.

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions using modern backend technologies (.NET, Java, or similar).
• Build responsive and efficient front-end applications using modern frameworks (Vue.js, Angular, React, or similar).
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.
• Act as an active contributor in software development projects, delivering high-quality code and features.
• Support the global TUCP Portal by investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues escalated from L1 and L2 support teams while driving long-term platform stability and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a global Agile environment across the United States, India, and Costa Rica.
• Take ownership of assigned features and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Optimize database performance and implement efficient data models.
• Participate in CI/CD processes and contribute to automation, quality, and operational improvements.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and propose effective technical solutions to complex business and platform challenges.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

• 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in software development with demonstrated contributions to enterprise or large-scale applications.
• Strong backend development experience using .NET, Java, or similar technologies to build scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Experience working with microservices architecture and modern software design principles.
• Hands-on experience working in Agile Scrum environments and collaborating with distributed global teams.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience developing cloud-native applications in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Vue.js, Angular, React, or similar technologies.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and databases, including both relational and non-relational systems.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating distributed systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and software quality practices.
