  • Work in a quality-driven environment that emphasizes repeatability, reliability, and world-class manufacturing standards.
  • Opportunity to expand expertise in Model-Based Definition (MBD), Digital Product Definition (DPD), and advanced verification methodologies.
  • Become part of a stable and growing organization supporting long-term aerospace and defense manufacturing programs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Read and understand technical and non-technical documents that relate to contracts, specifications, purchasing, product design, product manufacturing, inspection and testing.
  • Analyze manufacturing plan, drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates.
  • Develop machine fixtures as required that ensure consistent, repeatable, and reliable results regardless of operator. Poka-Yoke the process.
  • Determine reference points and strategic machine cutting paths to ensure NC program produces reliable results and part can be manufactured within estimated cycle time maintaining repeatability, reliability, efficiency, and profit margins.
  • Compute angular and linear dimensions, radii and curvatures and outlines sequence of operations required to machine part.
  • Write program of machine instructions through CATIA CAM software and post toolpath in symbolic language to encode numerical control data to regulate movements of machine along cutting path.
  • Perform NC program proofing using computer-assisted software (Vericut) for verification & validation of conforming product, stable process with high rate of success and repeatability while verifying location of reference points and direction of cutting paths.
  • Develop detailed and specific setup sheets and tool lists to ensure consistent, reliable setup and operation of machine between various personnel that may be assigned.
  • Monitor all newly released programs the first time they run to ensure accuracy and good pass down of information to Manufacturing Implementation Specialist.
  • Create In-Process inspection sheets for machinist ensuring that the first and last feature of each finishing tool’s tool path are captured as a requirement to be measured.
  • Analyze, review, and alter programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements or newly deployed technology. Coordinate with Planning Engineer and Quality assurance the requirement for new First Article upon any NC Program modification.
  • Assist users to solve operating problems and understanding the required instructions for safety and for the manufacturing of product to the specifications and quality requirements.
