Morgan McKinley is exclusively supporting a premier inter-dealer brokerage as they expand their core Fixed Income trading platform team in the NYC area.


They are looking for a pragmatic, 100% hands-on developer to take end-to-end project ownership across market data and order routing platforms.


Core Responsibilities

  • Trading Platform Development: Develop, maintain, and optimize a pure C/C++ Unix-based trading system handling order flow, trade creation, and downstream middle-office routing.
  • Market Data Distribution: Build and modify market data feeds to manage the distribution of critical financial data.
  • Low-Level Operations: Work heavily with inter-process communication (IPC), specifically dealing with applications connecting to shared memory segments and communicating via Unix signals.
  • Production & Debugging: Investigate production issues using GDB and system core files to ensure flawless platform execution and uptime during market hours.


Key Technical & Profile Requirements

  • Experience: 5 to 10+ years of hands-on software development experience with expert-level proficiency in C and C++.
  • Environment: Deep understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems, standard command-line tools (vi, top), and shell operations.
  • Systems Mechanics: Strong hands-on experience with IPC (shared memory segments, Unix signals) and GDB debugging tools.
  • Domain & Tools (Preferred): Familiarity with basic financial concepts (bid/offer, market data across any asset class) and exposure to middleware/databases like Solace, Protobuf, RabbitMQ, Tibco, or Oracle.
