- Total Compensation: $45.00 per hour.
- Type of Employment: 40 hours per week.
- Period of Performance: 30 September 2026 – 29 September 2027

- Paid Time Off per Year: Up to 80 hours per year, occurring on day one.
- Sick Leave per Year: Up to 56 hours per year, occurring on day one.

Working Hours
The Computer Engineer/Scientist work schedule is normally from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; however, there may be times when it is necessary for the employee to work after duty hours or weekends in support of specific tasks. Although the schedule may have to be flexible, it will not exceed 40 hours per week.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Possess a Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Possess software development skills, experience with DoD verification and validation methodologies, and experience with agile development methodologies and the tools commonly used to support agile development practices utilizing Envision.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with development in multiple coding environments such as: Windows, SASS Eg, SQL, Linux, Python, C++, Matlab, UML and SysML, and MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler.
- Experience involving systems thinking and a systems approach to problem definition and solution.
- Experience with writing technical documentation, based upon customer specifications for software development.
- This includes Software Architecture Documents, System Design Documents, use cases, system topologies, test plans, verification and validation documentation, deployment plans, and user documentation material.
- Experience with both C++ and Python is highly desired.
- Experience with model-based systems engineering tools is highly desired.
- Experience with high-performance computing environments is highly desired.

- Responsibilities shall include providing direct support to the FES Division Chief.
- Review code developed by the operational analysts supporting USAFSAM data analysis and decision support projects.
- Responsible for supporting technical planning meetings within the organization and across AFRL.
- Shall work with database managers, operational research analysts, and subject matter experts to design, code, test, and operationalize aeromedical and operational medical decision support projects.
- Responsible for developing work plans and assisting with program management of the software development efforts.
- Employ the skillset to lead development, improvement, and maintenance of data and models.
- Ensure discovered problems are clearly defined and communicated; and the necessary corrective actions are employed and/or risk is mitigated to support project(s) execution.
- Design and maintain secure data pipelines across our accredited platforms, transitioning between systems as the study phases progress.
- Immediate Focus (DAF Palantir Envision): Development will utilize SQL within Pipeline Builder and Python within Envision's Code Workspace to structure, clean, and analyze our baseline personnel cohorts that have already been created.
- DHA Phase Integration (using our existing AVHE access): Once the protocol reaches the DHA data integration phase, the contractor employee will transition to utilizing SAS Enterprise Guide (EG) within the Augmented Virtual Healthcare Environment (AVHE).
- Serve collaboratively regarding model development, elevating our analytical capabilities.
- Assist with the technical implementation of our AI evaluation framework.
