Job Overview

OmniOn Power is looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join our team, focusing on monitoring and control solutions for DC power systems in Open Compute Data Center Systems. You will be responsible for developing innovative software solutions, operating in a Linux application environment, that enhance the reliability and efficiency of power management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software applications that support OCP compliant DC power systems ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and system designers, to gather requirements and implement effective solutions.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs for effective communication between system components.
  • Utilize programming languages such as Go and C/C++ to customize software capabilities.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance using tools like Grafana and Prometheus, optimizing operational efficiency.
  • Implement CI/CD practices and manage deployment automation using tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
  • Ensure cybersecurity best practices are followed to protect data and system integrity.
  • Work on embedded systems programming to enhance control and management of DC power hardware.
  • Engage in research and development for cloud integration to leverage scalable solutions.
  • Conduct testing, debugging, and documentation of software applications to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Analyze system performance data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and recommend enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in DC power systems in Open Compute Data Center Systems

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Linux.
  • Proven experience in software development, preferably in the context of DC power systems or data centers.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, MQTT).
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases for effective data management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Passion for innovation in power management and sustainability.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Go and C/C++.
  • Strong understanding of DC power systems and experience with Open Compute Project standards.
  • Familiarity with control algorithms and energy monitoring solutions.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and their applications in monitoring and control.
  • Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Familiarity with cloud services like AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with Python for building tools to assist in development and test.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps’ board feature to track project tasks.
  • Strong data analysis skills to derive insights from power system performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a collaborative mindset.
