- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of professional engineering experience
- Proven track record designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining complex software systems.
- Advanced Experience using C/C++, Java, and/or Python
- Experience with Linux/Unix Operating Environment
- Advanced experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, static analysis, and configuration management (GitLab, Jenkins, Make/CMake)
- Demonstrated project leadership skills, formal or informal
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to obtain & maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level - U.S. Citizenship required
The Work
As The Lead Software Engineer, You Will
- Provide technical direction and tasking to a team of multi-disciplinary engineers
- Interface with program and customer representatives on scope, schedule and funding
- Ensure technical integrity of delivered product and ensure alignment to department roadmap and vision
- Be responsible for technical, cost and schedule performance of an effort
- Lead software‑engineering activities for simulation and training subsystems across the full product lifecycle, including the software architecture and design, software implementation, and software validation testing.
- Contribute to product line road maps and influence future technology directions.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead small development teams.
Who You Are
You are an experienced Software‑Engineer with a proven track record on defense‑industry projects. You have advanced experience in C++ development and automated testing. You have excellent verbal and written communication; able to present technical information to senior internal and external stakeholders. You have strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities and capable of delivering innovative technical solutions. You are a technical leader who owns the technical scope, product, and schedule for your product. You build strong customer relationships.
