About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Linux Embedded Systems Engineer to contribute to the development of our Linux-based streaming platforms built around modern SoC architectures.

The role primarily focuses on embedded Linux software development for high-end connected audio products running on Linux-based SoCs. Proven experience with MCU-based embedded systems and RTOS environments, including Azure RTOS, is also required.

The position targets profiles with proven experience in connected products integrating embedded systems with mobile applications for control, configuration, music streaming services, and third-party streaming platform integration and certification.

This role combines hands-on development and Linux expertise within the context of high-end connected audio products, working in close collaboration with hardware, software, acoustics, and the Goldmund Application team to ensure technical alignment, software validation, synchronized development activities, and the long-term maintenance, update, and lifecycle management of integrated streaming services throughout the lifetime of our products.

Key Responsibilities

· Contribute to the architecture and development of MCU and Linux-based audio streaming solutions with strong emphasis on real-time performance, low latency, and audio quality.

· Proven experience integrating music streaming service SDKs, including Qobuz, Spotify, TIDAL, Roon, Audirvāna, and similar platforms.

· Proven experience managing and supporting the certification processes for streaming services and protocols, including Qobuz, Spotify Connect, Google Cast (Chromecast built-in), AirPlay, and related technologies.

· Proven ability to collaborate closely with the Goldmund Application team to ensure software validation, technical alignment, integration planning, synchronization of development activities, and to manage the maintenance, updates, and long-term lifecycle support of all integrated streaming service SDKs throughout the lifetime of Goldmund products.

· Design, implement, and optimize audio processing pipelines (streaming, buffering, clocking, synchronization, routing), using GStreamer/Alsa Driver and custom DSP pipelines.

· Develop and maintain real-time components running on RTOS.

· Design and integrate embedded networking for audio streaming and control (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, MQTT).

· Implement and maintain communication interfaces between embedded systems and mobile applications (iOS / Android).

· Interface hardware and software layers, including MCU, Soc, and Linux interactions.

· Ensure robustness, scalability, and production readiness.

· Contribute to CI/CD practices, including build automation, testing, integration, and deployment.

Required Qualifications

· Strong hands-on experience with STM32 MCU development and embedded Linux.

· Proven experience in real-time audio streaming, audio pipelines, and DSP for audio applications.

· Proven experience with Linux Device Tree.

· Proven experience with the Yocto Project.

· Strong background in embedded systems and SoCs, including bring-up, BSPs, drivers, and performance optimization.

· Experience with FreeRTOS or similar RTOS.

· Proven experience with connected embedded products and mobile app integration (iOS / Android).

· Experience with embedded networking (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, MQTT).

· Excellent command of embedded C/C++, including ANSI C (C89/C90) and MISRA-C practices.

· Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.

· Experience collaborating on complex technical projects with cross-functional teams and external partners, using project management and issue tracking tools such as Jira.

Nice to Have / Bonus Skills

· Experience with low-latency or hard real-time media systems.

· Background in the high-end audio industry with experience in long-lifecycle products.

· Experience with cross-compilation, BSP customization, and hardware bring-up.

· Familiarity with mobile application ecosystems (iOS / Android).
