Software Engineer with Networking

We are looking for:

We are seeking a highly skilled Flight Simulation Software Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team developing advanced flight simulation and mission-critical aerospace software solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and testing real-time simulation software, working closely with systems, software, and hardware engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.

This role requires strong expertise in C/C++ development, real-time systems, Linux environments, networking protocols, and aerospace-related technologies.

What you will do:

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance flight simulation software using C and C++.

• Implement and optimize software for real-time and safety-critical environments.

• Develop and troubleshoot communication interfaces using TCP/IP and UDP protocols.

• Investigate and resolve networking issues such as packet loss, latency, and packet fragmentation.

• Design and implement data serialization solutions using Protocol Buffers.

• Configure and manage Linux-based applications and tasks on NXP host platforms.

• Participate in software architecture design, requirements analysis, implementation, integration, and verification activities.

• Support software testing activities, defect investigation, and system integration.

• Collaborate with Systems Engineering teams following the V-Model and software development lifecycle processes.

• Contribute to technical reviews, design documentation, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

• Work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams while maintaining ownership of assigned deliverables.

What you must have:

Core Programming - Strong programming experience in: C or C++

Networking & Communication

• Experience with network interfaces and communication protocols.

• Strong understanding of:

o TCP vs UDP

o Socket programming

o Network troubleshooting

o Packet fragmentation and buffer management

o Communication performance optimization

Embedded & Linux Development

• Experience configuring and managing Linux tasks and services.

• Familiarity with NXP-based host environments.

• Ability to implement and support TCP-based communication solutions on Linux.

Data Serialization - Experience with Protocol Buffers (Protobuf).

Real-Time Systems

• Experience developing software for real-time applications.

• Understanding of deterministic behavior, task scheduling, synchronization, and performance optimization.

Nice to have:

Engineering Processes

• Practical understanding of:

o Systems Engineering V-Model

o Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

Aerospace & Safety-Critical Systems

• Experience developing software for:

o Aerospace

o Aviation

o Automotive

o Other safety-critical industries

Windows Software Development

• Experience with:

o Windows application development

o Microsoft Visual Studio

Aerospace & Industrial Protocols

• Knowledge of:

o ARINC

o AFDX

o CAN Bus

DevOps & Collaboration Tools

• Experience with the Atlassian ecosystem:

o Jira

o Jira Service Management / Service Desk

o Confluence

o Bitbucket

o Bamboo

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in:

o Aerospace Engineering

o Software Engineering

o Computer Science

o Electronics Engineering

o Mathematics

o Related Engineering Discipline
