Infrastructure Engineer
Indexed description
We're a small, dedicated, mission-driven team and we intend to stay that way. We believe the best work happens when exceptionally talented people are given ownership, trust and the space to operate without bureaucratic friction. We work with urgency and intellectual honesty and expect new team members to match our velocity. We seek individuals who thrive at the frontier, who push beyond conventional limits, who bring curiosity and conviction in equal measure, and who want their work to have demonstrable impact in the world. If you're energized by the idea of a small team doing things that feel impossible, let’s build together.
About The Role
As an infrastructure engineer at Aaru, you will build the systems that enable our simulations to run faster, more reliably, and at greater scale. You will work across compute, networking, data pipelines, and developer tooling to remove bottlenecks from Aaru's core engineering and research workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design and build low-latency, high-throughput infrastructure for large-scale simulations
- Improve the reliability and performance of data ingestion and computation pipelines
- Identify system bottlenecks across compute, networking, storage, and orchestration
- Build tools and abstractions that help engineering and research teams move faster
- Productionize experimental research workflows into reliable, repeatable infrastructure
- Own infrastructure decisions from architecture through implementation and operation
- You have built infrastructure, frameworks, or internal platforms for fast-growing engineering teams
- You have deep experience debugging performance and reliability issues in distributed systems
- You are comfortable working close to networking, storage, compute, and cloud primitives
- You have helped transition research or experimental systems into production
- You care about developer experience and build systems that other engineers want to use
- You are comfortable with strongly typed languages or languages with algebraic type systems
- Experience with long-running computational pipelines
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, TLS, TCP, or related systems
- Experience designing infrastructure for high-scale data or machine learning workloads
- A track record of finding and eliminating bottlenecks in complex systems
Benefits
At Aaru, we take care of our people. In addition to a competitive base salary and equity participation, we offer comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, visa sponsorship and relocation support, and various other benefits and perks.
