Responsibilities
- Develop design and implementation of firmware and software components
- Write clear code conforming to company standards
- Maintain revision control using modern tools
- Work closely with other developers to develop/debug/test product features
- Provide design, unit test, and integration test documentation artifacts
- Work with Development and Test/QA leadership to ensure product quality
- Work closely with other corporate functions as required
- Other tasks and activities as required by management
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
- Experience with embedded Linux OS
- Working knowledge of C/C++, Python, and BASH languages (at least one of the three)
- Understanding of embedded systems, device drivers, control algorithms, process synchronization and related topics
- Knowledge of Network and Server Management protocols such as SNMP, SMTP, TCP/IP
- Ability to read a circuit board schematic
- Strong hardware and firmware debugging and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with source-code revision control tools
- Occassional travel may be required
- Experience with software design principles is a plus including functional design of software components and libraries, understanding of object-oriented concepts and understanding of Agile methods.
- General understanding of computer security vulnerabilities and protection techniques
- Well-developed cultural and communications skills.
- Ability to work across all levels of the organization.
- Experience with batteries and data centers is a plus.
- Knowledge of source code version control tools like Git is a plus.
- Additional, highly sought but optional, attributes:
- Experience working with and building Yocto for embedded devices
- Experience with TI microprocessors
