Position / Assignment Purpose:

Design, deploy, and sustain manufacturing test solutions for automotive NAD, Wi-Fi, and V2X modules. Ensure that each production unit is correctly programmed, calibrated, and functionally verified before shipment. Drive improvements in test coverage, yield, cycle time, and false failure rate through troubleshooting to meet mass production targets.

Position / Assignment Summary:

This position requires developing new manufacturing test systems to improve test accuracy, stability, and efficiency:

  • Develop new MFT tools, and maintain and optimize them to suit various products.
  • Validate and release test tools to the factory.
  • Provide production support locally or by traveling to factories, and follow up on technical issues, yield analysis, and test time optimization.
  • Provide and maintain system specifications and required documentation in line with ISO processes, VDA 6.3, and ASPICE.

Key Accountabilities / Statement of Work:

1. Test Solution Development & Deployment based on product requirements:

- Define and implement manufacturing test strategies for PCBA and final assembly, including:

- Firmware pre-programming (flash) and firmware download on PCA.

- Calibration (RF, power, temperature).

- Functional testing (BFT).

- RF performance testing (RFT).

- SKU configuration testing.

- Aging (DBI) / temperature chamber testing (TTH/TTL), as required.

- Design and qualify test fixtures, interface boards, sockets, and test scripts.

2. Test Station Setup & Maintenance:

- Set up and validate test stations in the R&D lab and at contract manufacturers (CMs).

- Develop and maintain test executables using platforms such as NI TestStand, LabVIEW, Python, or C/C++-based tools.

- Integrate testers with factory MES (Manufacturing Execution System) for data collection and serialization.

- Provide on-site support for NPI builds to ensure test plans are executed efficiently.

3. Yield & Performance Improvement:

- Monitor key metrics: first-pass yield (FPY), test coverage, false failure rate, test cycle time, and escapes.

- Analyze manufacturing test logs to differentiate between product defects, test station issues, and software failures.

- Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with process, quality, and R&D teams.

- Ensure CPK and MSA reports meet PV/PP gate criteria.

4. Failure Analysis & Debug:

- Support production line troubleshooting for test failures, including RF (power, sensitivity), digital interfaces, and V2X communication.

- Provide rapid feedback loops to R&D for design or software improvements (DFM/DFT).

5. Documentation & Training:

- Create test procedures, work instructions, and maintenance guides for CM operators.

- Train CM test technicians and support ramp-up activities.

Required Education and Experience:

- Experience with Visual C++ or similar programming languages, and work experience in a manufacturing test environment or similar.

- Familiarity with 3G/4G/5G platforms, with the ability to study, understand, and develop MFT test tools for new product requirements.

- Diverse background in hardware, software, mechanical automation, and factory environments.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in Visual C++ or similar programming languages, and experience in manufacturing test environments for 3G/4G/5G, Wi-Fi, V2X, or similar wireless device testing.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Preferred knowledge areas:

- Cellular: LTE, 5G NR (Tx power, Rx sensitivity, EVM, ACLR conducted testing).

- Wi-Fi: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, station/AP mode, RSSI, throughput testing.

- V2X: C-V2X PC5 (message generation, loopback, GPS synchronization).

- Tools: Keysight / Rohde & Schwarz signal analyzers, Spirent / Anritsu communication testers, GNSS simulators.
