About the Role:
Aquila Technology is seeking a Software Developerto join its team in support of one of the nation’s premier defense research organizations. The group is looking foran engineer to own ground support for satellite payload software and hardware. This position is geared towards an EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment Developer). The Software Developer will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to architect and implement ground support equipment, and use the equipment to test complex systems spanning embedded software, firmware, and electronic hardware for mission-critical prototypes.
Position requirements are as follows:
- High-level programming language (C#, Java, etc.)
- Strong programming skills in C/C++
- Scripting experience (COSMOS, Ruby, or similar)
- XML
- Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, waveform generators, spectrum analyzers and logic analyzers for integration and hardware debugging
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years Electrical/Electronics
- 3 years – Test Equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers; power supplie, data acquisition)
- 3 years – Testing and Debugging Firmware Designs in both Simulation and in Hardware
- 3 years – C/C++ Programming
- 3 years – Scripting and Task Automation
- 3 years – Software programming: Java, C/C++, Python, Linux
- 3 years – XML
- Degree Level Bachelor’s Degree
- Currently holds a Secret Clearance (OR a higher clearance)
- Currently holds a Top Secret/SCI clearance
- COSMOS Script development
- Ruby

Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) – Team members are eligible for reimbursement of up to $1,500 every three (3) years for the purchase of electronic equipment used to access corporate services. To qualify for this benefit, employees must have completed a minimum of six (6) months of employment and must agree to and sign the Device Minimum Configuration Form prior to reimbursement. Electronic devices eligible under the Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) program are limited to cell phones, laptops, and tablets.
Clearance Level: Interim clearance is sufficient to start. Secret Clearance or above is preferred. TS/SCI is highly preferred.
Work Location: Candidate should expect to 80% onsite – Lexington, MA
Interview process: Initial interview with team member, followed by an onsite interview with the team. The team will consider relocation candidates and will accommodate a Zoom.
