An exciting opportunity is available for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team developing advanced robotic systems and electromechanical hardware for mission-critical applications across defence, aerospace and space.
This role offers the chance to work on products that combine embedded software with complex hardware, giving engineers ownership from firmware development through to system integration and testing.
Responsibilities include:
• Developing embedded firmware, drivers and low-level software
• Bringing up and integrating electromechanical systems including motors, actuators and sensors
• Supporting PCB bring-up alongside hardware engineers
• Translating hardware requirements into embedded software solutions
• Debugging hardware and firmware issues in the lab
• Contributing to software testing, validation and firmware deployment
• Working across the full product development lifecycle
Engineers with experience in the following are encouraged to apply:
• Embedded C/C++ development in Linux environments
• C++, Python and embedded firmware development
• RTOS and/or ROS
• Communication protocols including CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, EtherCAT and Ethernet
• Motor control, sensors, actuators and robotics
• Git, CI/CD and software testing
• Oscilloscopes, soldering and hardware debugging
• Robotics, aerospace, defence or other embedded systems environments
Experience with spaceflight hardware, avionics, radiation-hardened electronics or other safety-critical systems would be highly beneficial.
This position is based onsite in Webster, Texas, and due to project requirements, applicants must be eligible to work under ITAR regulations.
