C++ Developer| Data Infrastructure | London (Hybrid) | £200,000–£300,000 + Bonus + Benefits
We're partnering with a world-leading quantitative trading firm that's expanding its Data Infrastructure team. This is an opportunity to build the microservices and distributed systems that enable the processing and analysis of massive datasets used across trading and quantitative research.
You'll be working alongside world-class engineers, quantitative researchers and data scientists, developing highly scalable infrastructure where performance, reliability and low latency are critical.
What you'll be doing:
- Design and build high-performance data infrastructure using modern C++
- Develop scalable microservices that process and serve large datasets
- Optimise applications for speed, scalability and reliability
- Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions
- Collaborate with engineering, research and data teams on complex technical challenges
- Troubleshoot and improve production systems in a Linux environment
What we're looking for:
- Strong commercial C++ development experience
- Experience building microservices or asynchronous, multithreaded applications
- Strong Linux development experience
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced engineering environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- SQL and database knowledge
- gRPC, REST APIs or WebSockets
- Apache Arrow, Parquet, Protocol Buffers or FlatBuffers
- Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or Google Cloud
- Experience building highly available distributed systems
Nice to have:
- Boost ASIO
- Exposure to Rust, Python or Q
