Mid-Senior Firmware Engineer

Fort Myers, FL (Hybrid) | Full Time | $100k-$140k


Company & Role

A small product development firm is seeking a Mid-Senior Firmware Engineer to join their engineering team, developing firmware for commercial equipment used by major global brands.

This role focuses on Embedded C++ development for STM32-based products, working closely with hardware, electronics, controls, testing, and product development teams.


What You Will Work On

  • Develop Embedded C++ firmware for STM32 microcontroller-based products
  • Support new product development and existing product improvements
  • Work closely with hardware engineers on board bring-up, testing, and debugging
  • Develop and maintain firmware for connected commercial equipment
  • Troubleshoot firmware and hardware-level issues across embedded systems
  • Work with communication protocols such as Modbus, CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and UART
  • Support product validation, integration, and manufacturing-related engineering activities
  • Contribute to firmware architecture, documentation, and ongoing product reliability improvements


What We Are Looking For

  • Strong Embedded C++ experience
  • Hands-on STM32 experience is essential
  • Experience with microcontroller peripherals and communication protocols
  • Comfortable reading schematics and working with hardware teams
  • PIC32 experience would be desirbale
  • Experience with Modbus, CAN, Ethernet, or similar protocols would be desirable
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take ownership in a small team environment
