About Amber
Amber is a long-term accommodation booking platform built for students. We help over 80 million students worldwide find and book full-time accommodation near their universities—without the hassle of negotiation, non-standardized paperwork, or fragmented payment processes.
Today, Amber is the leading global student housing platform, with 1M+ student housing units listed across 10 countries and 80+ cities. We're growing rapidly and are on track to achieve $1B in annual gross bookings. Backed by $18.5M in funding from marquee investors like Gaja Capital, we're building the future of student living.
If you're passionate about making international mobility and student living seamless and accessible, we'd love to have you join us.
The role
We're building a global, on-ground community and ambassador network — students and local creators who represent Amber in their cities, create authentic content, and help fellow students settle into a new country. The mandate to design, build and lead that network end-to-end, from strategy through to operations, across three continents.
You'll own the program globally from our Pune HQ, working across time zones to establish real on-ground presence in our key student markets. It's part strategist, part operator, part team-builder — you'll set the vision and make it run.
What you'll own
● Strategy & vision — design the global community and ambassador program from the ground up: structure, tiers, regional coverage, and how it ladders into brand growth and bookings.
● Build the network — recruit, onboard and scale a large global ambassador base across the UK, Australia and US, with local leadership in priority cities. Ensure no region is under-served.
● Offline & experiential activations — design and run on-ground activations, local partnerships and events that build brand presence where students actually live and gather.
● Content engine — turn the network into a consistent, high-quality stream of social and property content across platforms, with the systems to track coverage and output.
● Team leadership — hire and lead a distributed network of city leads and ambassadors
● Economics & measurement — own the program budget, build the cost model, and prove return against clear performance metrics
● Systems & ops — stand up the CRM, onboarding, payments and attribution infrastructure needed to run a network of this scale reliably.
What you'll bring
● 8+ years in community, field or brand marketing, with demonstrable experience building and scaling an ambassador, community or field-marketing network — ideally across multiple countries.
● Hands-on experience with offline / experiential activations and local partnerships, not just digital programs.
● A track record of building and leading distributed teams, including managing people across regions and time zones.
● Strong commercial instinct — comfortable owning a budget and defending the program on hard metrics, not vanity numbers.
● Operator's mindset: you've built programs from scratch, set up the systems, and run them — not just overseen them.
● Fluency in how students and young audiences discover, trust and engage with brands across social platforms.
Nice to have
● Experience in student housing, edtech, travel, or a youth/student-facing consumer brand.
● Exposure to international student audiences (India, SEA, China) and Western markets.
● Familiarity with creator/influencer ecosystems and content operations at scale
