Marketing Manager — Fena

Location: Remote

Type: Full-time

Salary: 2,000-2,300 euros per month + share options

Reports to: Founder & CEO

The short version

We're a small, FCA-authorised payments company building things that most people said were too hard for a team our size. We need someone to own marketing — not manage an agency, not sit in a team of eight, but actually own it. If you've got 2–3 years under your belt, more ideas than you currently get to use, and you're comfortable being the person who tries something nobody has tried here before, keep reading.

About Fena

Fena is a UK payments business, authorised by the FCA as a payment institution. We help merchants get paid — through Open Banking, cards, wallets, and now stablecoins — and we build the B2B commerce tools that sit around those payments: wholesale ordering, invoicing, inventory.

We're bootstrapped, deliberately lean, and remote-first across several time zones. That means less politics, faster decisions, and no waiting three weeks for sign-off on a campaign. It also means nobody is going to hand you a 40-page brand playbook. You'll help write it.

We're about to launch a new product, and we want someone who's excited to take it to market rather than nervous about it.

What you'll actually be doing
  • Own the launch of our new product. Positioning, messaging, launch plan, content, the lot — with the founder in the room, not in the way.
  • Generate inbound leads and work hand-in-hand with sales. You'll be judged on pipeline, not impressions. You'll sit close to sales, learn what actually closes deals, and build campaigns off that.
  • Use AI properly, not decoratively. We want someone already using AI tools to move faster — content production, research, personalisation, campaign ops, creative testing. Show us how you work, not that you've heard of ChatGPT.
  • Run our organic channels. LinkedIn is our strongest channel and we want to push it much further, alongside SEO, email, and whatever else you can prove works.
  • Test, measure, kill, repeat. Small budget, high tempo. Two ideas that work beat ten that were beautifully briefed.
  • Turn our expertise into content. We talk at industry events about Open Banking, VRPs, agentic commerce and fraud. That's raw material — your job is to turn it into demand.
Who we're looking for

We care far more about how you think than where you've worked.

  • 2–3 years in marketing — B2B, SaaS, fintech or agency side all count.
  • You've launched something and seen it through, even if it was small.
  • Bias to action. You'd rather ship a rough campaign on Tuesday than a perfect one next month.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity. Nobody will assign you tasks daily. You'll bring the plan.
  • Genuinely fluent with AI tools in your day-to-day work.
  • You write well. Clear, human, no jargon soup.
  • Numbers don't scare you — you can look at a funnel and say what's broken.
  • Curious about payments. You don't need to know what a PISP is on day one, but you should want to.

Nice to have, not required: fintech or payments experience, HubSpot, SEO chops, video editing, paid social, design tools.

Who this isn't for

Being straight with you, because it saves us both time:

  • If you want a large team, established processes and a clear ladder above you, this will frustrate you.
  • If your last role was mostly briefing agencies, you may find the hands-on nature of this a shock.
  • If you need certainty about what next quarter looks like, we can't offer it. We're a scale-up.
What you get
  • Real ownership of a function, at a stage where your work visibly moves the business.
  • Direct access to the founder and to customers — no six layers between you and a decision.
  • A budget to test with, and permission to spend it on things that might not work.
  • Remote flexibility and a team that judges output, not hours.
  • Share options
How to apply

Skip the cover letter. Send us:

  1. Your CV or LinkedIn profile.
  2. One idea — in under 300 words or a 2-minute video — for how you'd generate inbound leads for a payments product aimed at UK merchants. Rough is fine. We want to see how you think.
  3. One example of how you've used AI to do marketing work faster or better. Screenshots, links, a description — whatever shows it.

Send to [email protected] with the subject line "Marketing Manager — your name".

We read everything and reply to everyone. If it's a fit, you'll hear from us within 14 working days.
