Strong strategy needs credible evidence behind it, and strong execution rigor. As Airtel Business Africa sharpens its growth focus across OpCos, we need a consistent view of market potential, customer needs, competitive activity and emerging opportunities.

This role sits at the intersection of research, strategy, marketing PMO and execution-turning fragmented information into strategic recommendations, compelling leadership narratives and well-managed marketing initiatives.

What You Will Own

Market Sizing and Opportunity Assessment

  • Build a consistent TAM, SAM and SOM methodology across OpCos, products, customer segments and industries.
  • Triangulate internal data, primary research, secondary sources and expert inputs to create defensible estimates.
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities based on market potential, competitive intensity and commercial viability.

Strategy and Executive Decks

  • Develop strategy decks for annual planning, market prioritisation, portfolio strategy, leadership reviews and keynotes.
  • Build concise, evidence-backed narratives for senior leadership and marketing strategy decks
  • Own the strategic argument-not merely the presentation.

Competitive and Market Intelligence

  • Establish a regular competitor-tracking cadence covering local, regional and global players.
  • Monitor portfolios, and go-to-market activity.
  • Produce market maps, competitor profiles and leadership briefs with clear business implications.

Marketing Project Management

  • Manage selected marketing initiatives from planning through execution and closure.
  • Define project scope, workplans, milestones, budgets, RACI and success metrics.
  • Coordinate stakeholders across Group, OpCos, product, sales, finance and agency partners.
  • Track timelines, dependencies, risks and outcomes through structured governance.
  • Conduct post-program reviews and create reusable playbooks for multi-OpCo deployment.

Intelligence Infrastructure

  • Build dashboards, repositories and reusable strategic frameworks.
  • Establish a reliable source of truth for market, competitor and category intelligence.
  • Use AI-enabled tools to accelerate research and synthesis while maintaining strong source validation and confidentiality.

What You Will Bring

  • 4-5 years of experience in market intelligence, strategic research, corporate strategy, management consulting or marketing strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience in market sizing, opportunity assessment and competitor analysis.
  • Strong track record of developing senior-management or board-level strategy presentations.
  • Experience managing cross-functional marketing or business projects in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Sound understanding of business, marketing and financial metrics.
  • Ability to work with incomplete data, build sensible assumptions and arrive at defensible conclusions.
  • Excellent analytical, storytelling, stakeholder-management and project-management skills.
  • MBA/PGDM from a leading business school preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on knowledge of , and expertise in generative AI and research-automation tools is essential.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI or an equivalent visualisation platform.
  • Familiarity with market-intelligence databases and research platforms.
  • Experience with project-management tools such as Asana, Notion, Smartsheet or Microsoft Project.


Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to B2B technology, telecommunications, SaaS, cloud or digital services.
  • Experience working across multi-country environments.
  • Prior engagement with analyst firms, research agencies or consulting organisations.


What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12 months, this person will have:

  • Established a consistent market-sizing framework across priority OpCos.
  • Implemented a dependable competitor-intelligence cadence.
  • Improved the analytical quality of leadership strategies and presentations.
  • Delivered priority marketing projects with stronger governance and accountability.
  • Made market intelligence a regular input into strategic and investment decisions.
