Your new role
As a Property Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and financial performance of a portfolio of retail shopping centers. This role requires a strong understanding of property operations, budgeting, tenant relations, lease administration, and facility maintenance. You will collaborate closely with internal teams including Leasing, Development, Construction, Accounting, and Finance, while managing third-party vendors to ensure properties operate at the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations for a portfolio of retail shopping centers
- Conduct regular property inspections and ensure excellent property conditions
- Develop, manage, and reforecast annual operating budgets
- Maximize NOI through strategic expense management and revenue enhancement initiatives
- Oversee tenant account management, rent collections, and delinquency resolution
- Prepare and review CAM reconciliations and address tenant inquiries
- Analyze leases and ensure compliance with lease provisions
- Coordinate tenant improvements, capital projects, and property upgrades
- Manage third-party vendors, service contracts, and maintenance programs
- Partner with Leasing, Development, Construction, Accounting, and Finance teams on asset initiatives
- Ensure compliance with risk management, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, vendors, and community stakeholders
- Travel regularly to visit properties within the assigned portfolio
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 5 years of retail commercial property management experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate operations and facility maintenance practices
- Experience with property management accounting, budgeting, CAM reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset
- Professional designations such as CPM, CSM, or CCIM are highly preferred
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the portfolio
- Technology-forward mindset with an interest in leveraging emerging technologies and AI solutions to drive operational efficiency
