It is desirable that candidates demonstrate through their application form and at the interview that he/she:
- Strong IT experience essential
- An ability to achieve targets as an individual and as part of a team
- An ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational, negotiation and problem resolution skills
- A good understanding and working knowledge of Health & Safety standards and requirements
- Experience of the water and wastewater treatment process and related issues.
- Experience in sampling and laboratory testing and various sampling and testing techniques
- Possess a strong understanding of analytical quality control.
- Familiar with the use of laboratory software such as the LIMS database - Lab works.
- Experience in laboratory health & safety including risk assessments and
- control measures.
- An understanding of how to gather evidence in the event of legal action.
- Knowledge of ISO17025 standard, environmental legislation, and EPA guidance.
- A good knowledge of water and wastewater quality issues.
- Experience in problem solving and investigative techniques for pollution incidents.
- Experience in the use of laboratory information systems and financial management systems.
