Environmental Technician

It is desirable that candidates demonstrate through their application form and at the interview that he/she:

• Strong IT experience essential

• Strong organisational, negotiation and problem resolution skills
• A good understanding and working knowledge of Health & Safety standards and requirements
• Experience of the water and wastewater treatment process and related issues.
• Experience in sampling and laboratory testing and various sampling and testing techniques
• Possess a strong understanding of analytical quality control.
• Familiar with the use of laboratory software such as the LIMS database - Lab works.
• Experience in laboratory health & safety including risk assessments and

1. control measures.

• An understanding of how to gather evidence in the event of legal action.
• Knowledge of ISO17025 standard, environmental legislation, and EPA guidance.
• A good knowledge of water and wastewater quality issues.
• Experience in problem solving and investigative techniques for pollution incidents.
• Experience in the use of laboratory information systems and financial management systems.
