Business Operations Manager - Legal and People Operations

JOB DESCRIPTION

Tjekvik is seeking a Business Operations Manager – Legal and People Operations to

join their team in Copenhagen. This is a central and hands-on role for a commercially

minded operator who can help strengthen the operational backbone of a fast-

growing SaaS company.

Tjekvik is a PE-backed Danish SaaS company providing self-service check-in and

check-out kiosk solutions to automotive dealerships. The company operates across

several European markets, including Denmark, the UK, Sweden, and Germany, and

also serves customers in markets such as Australia. Tjekvik is the category leader in its

segment and is majority-owned by Standout Capital, a Swedish growth-focused

private equity firm.

The primary focus of the role is Business Operations. You will act as an operational

anchor between customers, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Support, and

Hardware Operations/SCM, ensuring that processes are not only designed, but also

driven, followed through, and continuously improved across the business. A key part

of the role is to create clarity, structure, and commercial discipline in the way Tjekvik

operates.

As Business Operations Manager, you will need strong general business

understanding and sound commercial judgment. You should be able to understand

when something is a good business decision for Tjekvik — and when it is not. This

includes understanding how operational processes, customer commitments, delivery,

invoicing, commercial terms, internal handovers, and resource use connect to the

company’s overall performance. In addition to the core Business Operations responsibility, you will also own important areas within Legal Operations and People Operations. These are secondary to the business operations focus, but still important parts of the role and closely connected to Tjekvik’s ability to scale in a structured, compliant, and professional way.

Your primary tasks and areas of responsibility:

• Drive and improve core business operations across customers, Sales, Customer

Success, Finance, Support, and Hardware Operations/SCM, ensuring strong

handovers, clear ownership, efficient processes, and reliable follow-through.

• Own and optimize operational processes related to customer setup, invoicing,

hardware delivery, internal workflows, SOPs, vendor overview, management

reporting, and cross-functional improvement initiatives.

• Act as a commercially minded operational partner to the CFO and leadership

team, helping assess how processes, customer commitments, delivery models,

and business decisions impact Tjekvik’s profitability, scalability, and operational

quality.

• Manage day-to-day Legal Operations and compliance tasks, including standard

contracts, NDAs, customer agreements, supplier contracts, DPAs, GDPR

processes, vendor due diligence, contract templates, documentation, and

coordination with external counsel when needed.

• Run People Operations through Remote, including employment contracts,

onboarding, offboarding, payroll coordination with Finance, employee data,

holiday and salary-related matters, EOR processes, and ad hoc employee

requests across Denmark, the UK, and Germany.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate is expected to have an education at BA or MA level, but

experience from a similar role is more important.

This is first and foremost a Business Operations role. The right candidate is a strong

generalist with broad business understanding, practical judgment, and the ability to

create structure across functions. The role also includes Legal Operations and People

Operations, but Tjekvik is not looking for a lawyer or a traditional HR profile. They are

looking for an operator who can make the business run better.

Furthermore, you are expected to have:

• 3–6 years of relevant experience from business operations, commercial

operations, consulting, a scale-up environment, Chief of Staff-type role, legal

operations, people operations, or another broad cross-functional role.

• Strong ability to understand business processes across customers, Sales, CS,

Finance, Support, and operations, and to identify where ownership, structure,

handovers, or commercial discipline need to be improved.

• Solid commercial judgment and general business understanding, including the

ability to assess what creates value for the business and what creates

unnecessary complexity, risk, or poor economics.

• Experience designing, documenting, implementing, and running practical

processes that work in daily operations, preferably in a SaaS, B2B, scale-up, or

PE-backed environment.

• Strong communication skills in English and Danish, high discretion with

confidential information, comfort with ambiguity, and strong AI fluency for

drafting, research, analysis, and structured thinking.

Experience with HR/payroll platforms such as Remote, EOR setups, GDPR, contract

review, vendor management, multi-country operations, SaaS, automotive, hardware

delivery, or PE-backed reporting environments will be considered an advantage.
