About the Role
The primary goal of this position is to identify customers who need our specialized solutions to improve their manufacturing operations. With support from our internal sales and engineering staff, you will work to understand each customer's needs and present a solution that offers an acceptable ROI and delivery timeline. While most of your time will be spent on core sales activities, a solid understanding of marketing and prospecting methods is essential. This role involves travel to prospects throughout Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois, from initial introduction through close of deal.
We're looking for candidates with a dynamic personality, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to build lasting relationships.
Marketing and Prospecting Responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of the company's core capabilities and market direction.
- Use existing internal tools and databases—as well as new methods—to research, categorize, and expand the customer base with specific automation objectives in mind.
- Offer creative input on new opportunities to grow sales and win new business.
Development and Sales Responsibilities
- Target, contact, and present our company's advantages and capabilities to a wide range of potential customers.
- Build long-term relationships through scheduled touchpoints that foster confidence and presence.
- Use a variety of presentation tools—such as PowerPoint and video—to demonstrate our company's benefits, team capabilities, and strong track record, matched to each customer's needs.
- Serve as a key representative when proposal and quote opportunities arise, gathering supporting documentation to begin the proposal process.
- Contribute to the presentation team in delivering high-quality proposals tailored to each customer's specific automation solution.
- Remain a key point of contact throughout the decision and purchasing cycle to help win best-fit opportunities.
- Assist with or lead the effort to close sales and meet company goals.
