Industry: Commercial Glass & Glazing Construction
A woman-owned commercial glass and glazing contractor serving the Triangle area is seeking a Business Development Coordinator to expand its presence in the commercial and government construction markets. This role will work closely with company ownership to develop relationships with general contractors, developers, and government agencies, secure placement on GC bid lists and approved subcontractor rosters, and generate new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with general contractors, construction managers, developers, and government agencies.
- Promote the company's glazing services, including curtain wall, storefront, entrances, and building envelope systems.
- Build and maintain relationships with estimators, project managers, purchasing agents, and government procurement officials.
- Represent the company at pre-bid meetings, industry trade shows, networking events, and client meetings.
- Maintain and track business development activities and sales pipeline using CRM software.
- Transition qualified opportunities to ownership and the estimating team for proposal development.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working on government or large commercial construction projects with direct exposure to prime contractor and subcontractor relationships.
- At least 3 years of business development or relationship management experience with general contractors, developers, or government procurement decision-makers.
- 1-2 years of experience with commercial or government bidding processes and subcontractor qualification requirements.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation for local travel.
- Ability to pass a background check and provide three professional references (including two supervisors).
- Experience in the commercial glazing, curtain wall, or façade industry.
- Membership in industry organizations such as AGC, ABC, CSI, or a local Builders Exchange.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
