Business Development Executive – Partner Recruitment (Greengrocers)

Location: Stamford, Lincolnshire / Peterborough, fully remote, with initial onsite training Salary: £12.71 per hour (approx. £24,800 FTE) plus uncapped commission for the first 3 months, with a basic salary review at 3 months Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday Experience: No sales experience required - full training provided.

We're looking for someone who's happy picking up the phone, writes a good email, and wants to learn. Everything else we'll train you on.

This is a fully remote role, but you'll spend your first few days with us onsite in Stamford getting properly trained; after that, you work from home.

About Nearly Naked Veg

We're an online greengrocer. Until now we've shipped next day from HQ in Plymouth.

We're introducing a new model. Instead of shipping everything ourselves, we're building a nationwide network of independent greengrocers who pick and pack local orders and get them to the customer the same day.

The technology is already built and live. We're integrated with a same-day delivery partner, and we've built a web portal our partners use to receive and fulfil orders. What we need now is the network.

The role

Your job is to build that network; finding independent greengrocers across the UK and signing them up as fulfilment partners.

Day to day, that looks like:

• Researching and building lists of independent greengrocers, market traders and produce wholesalers
• Making outbound calls to owners and managers to introduce the opportunity
• Following up with clear, professional emails that actually get replied to
• Walking interested partners through how the portal works and what's involved
• Keeping everything accurately logged in our CRM so nothing slips through the cracks

You're offering independent shops a new revenue stream from orders they'd never otherwise see, using kit we've already built and paid for. It's a genuinely good pitch, but it still needs someone willing to make the calls.

What we're looking for

• You're comfortable making outbound phone calls to people you've never spoken to, and you don't take a "no thanks" personally
• You write clearly and professionally. A follow-up email from you should read as if it came from a real person who paid attention on the call (not written by AI)
• You're organised enough to work remotely without someone standing over you
• You're curious about how small businesses work and can hold a conversation with a shop owner who's busy and slightly sceptical
• You can get to Stamford for your initial training and occasional team days

Nice to have (but genuinely not essential)

• Any experience with a CRM - Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot, Pipedrive, anything. Ours is in-house and works on the same principles, so you'll pick it up quickly
• Any exposure to Shopify or ecommerce
• Any previous phone-based role; retail, hospitality, customer service, charity fundraising, recruitment.

If you've never done a sales job in your life but you're a confident communicator who wants to learn, please still apply. We'd rather train the right person than hire the wrong experienced one.

The package

• £12.71 per hour (approx. £24,800 full-time equivalent) for the first 3 months (Open to freelancers/contractors/self-employed, but no agencies)
• Equipment provided (Laptop and phone)
• Uncapped commission on every partner you sign and onboard, from day one
• Full basic salary review at 3 months, based on how you're getting on
• Fully remote after initial training
• Full training on our product, our CRM and how to run outbound properly
• Genuine progression; you'd be the first hire into this function, and we intend to build a team around it
