Sales Development Representative (SDR)
📍Location: New York City (onsite, 5 days/week)
🛄Work Model: In-person — this is a deliberate, train-in-person sales floor
🏢Industry: Healthcare technology (AI)
About the Company
Our partner is a venture backed Series A company building AI-powered operations software for the healthcare market — replacing manual, human-heavy back-office work with modern, AI-first systems that run around the clock. The market is enormous ($100B+ in the US) and structurally underserved by legacy software. The team is small, intense, and well-capitalized by top-tier venture investors; they already serve hundreds of healthcare organizations and are building the go-to-market team.
About the Role
This is a founding-tier SDR role on a go-to-market team being built right now. You will work directly with company leadership and the founding account executives, run a true outbound motion (phone-first, supported by email and LinkedIn), and own prospecting end-to-end against a defined territory of healthcare businesses. It is a build-it role, not a follow-the-script role — with a clear, fast path to a closing seat for people who perform. The company promotes from the SDR bench.
Responsibilities
- Generate qualified pipeline through high-volume outbound: cold calls first, plus email and LinkedIn
- Research target accounts and decision-makers before you ever pick up the phone — understand the operational problem you’re calling about
- Qualify prospects on first conversations; surface real pain; book meetings for Account Executives
- Own your numbers: track activity, conversion, and pipeline in the CRM, and iterate on messaging based on what the data says
- Feed what you learn on the phones back to leadership — your conversations will shape messaging, targeting, and product
Qualifications
- 0–3 years of experience in sales, business development, or a competitive, high-activity role (athletics, fundraising, campus leadership, door-to-door — we care about evidence of drive, not logos)
- Genuine comfort on the phone and with rejection. You will hear “no” daily and dial anyway
- Competitive and self-directed: you like scoreboards, you know your numbers, you don’t need to be managed into effort
- Coachable: you seek feedback, apply it fast, and iterate
- High agency: you figure things out without waiting for permission or a playbook
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Able to work onsite in NYC, 5 days a week
Required Skills
- Bonus: prior SDR/BDR or outbound experience; interest in healthcare, AI, or startups; you want to found a company one day
Pay range and compensation package
- Compensation: $80,000–$120,000 OTE (base + uncapped commission) + equity
Equal Opportunity Statement
- The company is committed to diversity and inclusivity.
