The Sales Representative is responsible for managing assigned customer accounts (mills) by building relationships with key decision-makers, including superintendents, production managers, and technical personnel. This role is accountable for developing, maintaining, and growing a core base of annual sales while driving regional performance across sales, orders, customer satisfaction, receivables, and expense management.
Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned accounts to meet sales and order budget objectives, while addressing customer requirements, monitoring receivables, and controlling travel and entertainment expenses.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Customer Service, Manufacturing, Technology & Optimization, and Administrative Support, to drive operational success and achieve business objectives.
- Present and promote value-added products and technical services by analyzing data and delivering reports that support customer decision-making and acceptance.
- Determine with sales management and regional team members prescribed levels of call frequencies through accounts planning including machine downtime coverage.
- Forecast annually with sales management for future growth and opportunities.
- Maintain good customer files and records for account planning, forecasting, production scheduling, and inventory control.
- Support product installations, maintain accurate reporting and database records, and promptly escalate product performance or runnability issues.
- BS Degree in Engineering or Paper Science, or sales or industry-related experience.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to sell and develop strong relationships with customers.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels and functions of the organization to achieve goals.
- Must be willing to travel up to 85% of the time.
- Must be able to provide solid technical support to customers.
- Regularly required to talk and hear, stand and walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
- Climb stairs, walking, kneeling, pulling, warm temperatures, work around equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds as needed.
