About the Opportunity
An Australian technology company specialising in enterprise AI infrastructure is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across Australia. The organisation develops enterprise AI solutions that enable businesses to securely deploy and manage artificial intelligence within their own environments.
The Role
This is a true end-to-end Business Development position with responsibility for prospecting, qualifying, presenting, negotiating, and closing new business. There is no SDR support or reliance on inbound leads, you will own your territory and build your pipeline from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and execute a targeted outbound sales strategy across named enterprise and mid-market accounts.
- Generate new business opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, networking, and industry events.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through to contract negotiation and close.
- Conduct discovery meetings and present tailored business solutions to senior stakeholders.
- Develop business cases and ROI proposals that demonstrate commercial value.
- Navigate complex enterprise buying cycles involving procurement, legal, security, and executive stakeholders.
- Partner with technical teams to coordinate demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept engagements.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasting, and pipeline reporting.
- Provide market feedback, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to internal stakeholders.
About You
You'll be an experienced new business sales professional with a proven ability to build pipeline through outbound activity and close complex technology opportunities.
Essential Experience
- 4+ years' experience in outbound, full-cycle B2B software or technology sales.
- Demonstrated success selling into mid-market and enterprise organisations.
- Proven ability to generate opportunities through proactive prospecting rather than inbound leads.
- Experience selling to senior technology stakeholders such as CIOs, CTOs, IT Directors, or Heads of Technology.
- Strong commercial negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers.
