Senior Sales Representative – Power Generation

About the Role

Mikano International is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Sales Representative with a strong and proven background in the power generation industry.

The candidate must have direct experience selling generators, power-generation equipment, backup power systems, or closely related energy solutions. This role requires strong technical and commercial knowledge of generator products, customer power requirements, industry applications, and the power-generation sales process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, and market-growth targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the power generation sector.
  • Promote and sell generators, backup power systems, and related power-generation solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, contractors, consultants, distributors, government institutions, industrial customers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Assess customers’ power requirements and recommend suitable generator and backup power solutions.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, client meetings, site visits, needs assessment, product presentations, quotations, negotiations, closing, and after-sales follow-up.
  • Prepare professional quotations, technical and commercial proposals, contracts, and sales presentations.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and performance updates.
  • Meet or exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing developments, customer requirements, and new products within the power generation industry.
  • Collaborate with technical, engineering, operations, logistics, finance, and after-sales teams to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Represent the company at industry exhibitions, client meetings, tender briefings, conferences, and other business-development activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of generator specifications, power ratings, fuel types, control systems, installation requirements, warranties, and maintenance services.


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of professional sales experience, including at least three years of direct experience in generator or power-generation equipment sales.

Proven experience selling one or more of the following:

  • Diesel generators
  • Gas generators
  • Industrial or commercial generator sets
  • Backup and standby power systems
  • Automatic transfer switches and generator control systems
  • Related power-generation equipment and services
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong knowledge of generator applications, power ratings, customer requirements, market segments, competitors, and sales channels.
  • Ability to understand technical specifications and translate them into suitable commercial solutions for customers.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Strong business-development, lead-generation, and customer-acquisition capabilities.
  • Ability to prepare quotations, tender submissions, commercial proposals, sales reports, and forecasts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customer relationship management systems.


Preferred Qualifications

  • An established network of contractors, consultants, facility managers, industrial companies, government institutions, distributors, and corporate customers within the power generation sector.
  • Experience managing key accounts, tenders, generator projects, institutional clients, or major commercial transactions.
  • Strong technical understanding of generators, engines, alternators, control panels, automatic transfer switches, synchronisation systems, and related accessories.
  • Experience working with a generator manufacturer, authorised distributor, engineering company, or recognised power-generation brand.
  • Experience selling maintenance contracts, spare parts, installation services, or other generator-related after-sales solutions.
