Inside Sales Associate Essential Functions
- Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
- Researches and identifies active, potential, and prospective customers within the designated store territory
- Reviews market share, EDA, CRM, and other data sources to identify customer activity and business opportunities
- Uses job site identification software to identify upcoming projects in the territory
- Generates leads and identifies new sales opportunities through outbound calls and other prospecting activities
- Ensures accurate and reliable data flow across CRM, ERP, marketing automation, analytics, and reporting systems
- Supports customer segmentation, targeting initiatives, training activities, and continuous process improvements
- Improves lead generation processes and lead quality to increase conversion rates and support sales growth
- Analyzes data and provides actionable insights and recommendations to Marketing and business stakeholders
- Assists with forecasting, strategic planning, and business decision-making through data analysis and reporting
- Receives, manages, and follows up on inbound phone calls, inquiries, and walk-in customer requests
- Qualifies leads and prospects by assessing customer needs, budgets, decision-making process, and timelines
- Educates current and prospective customers on products, services, and solutions offered by Kirby-Smith Machinery
- Maintains accurate and consistent customer notes, call activity, and follow-up information in appropriate systems
- Greets and assists walk-in customers; directs customers to the appropriate department or associate as needed
- Maintains current knowledge of company products, services, technology solutions, and sales programs
- Builds and maintains relationships with existing customers to support repeat business and customer satisfaction
- Tracks and follows up on identified transaction opportunities, including IMC demos, Smart Construction products, rental opportunities, undercarriage inspections, warranty expiration, and warranty extensions
- Identifies and reports lost sales and rental opportunities
- Collaborates with and supports outside sales associates and other departments as needed
- Assists in identifying local vendor resources, including hauling vendors and other service providers
- Provides support for local civic and community activities as requested
- Consistent and reliable on-site attendance
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Three (3) years of experience in heavy equipment, compact equipment, agricultural equipment sales, or a related industry preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Excel, CRM systems, EDA, and other job-related software
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and follow-through
- Ability to represent the company professionally with customers, vendors, and associates
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed
- Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying up to 25 pounds without assistance
- Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
- Must be able to mount and dismount truck/forklift, move between buildings/offices
- Physical ability to perform work for extended hours
- Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE
