Role Description The Transportation Sales Professional is a full-time remote role, to transition into a brick and mortar location, responsible for developing and managing customer relationships, with a focus on matching client transportation needs to Stallion’s asset-based and 3PL services. Day-to-day activities include prospecting new accounts, qualifying leads, conducting consultative sales calls, preparing and presenting pricing proposals, and negotiating rates and contracts. This role collaborates closely with operations, dispatch, and carrier management teams to ensure service commitments are met and to resolve any issues that arise during shipment execution. The Transportation Sales Professional will regularly analyze market trends, maintain accurate CRM records, and provide ongoing account management, including performance reviews and opportunities for growth. The position requires consistent communication with customers and internal stakeholders to support reliable, safe, and cost-effective transportation solutions.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in transportation or logistics sales, including prospecting, lead qualification, and account management.
- Experience with rate negotiation, contract discussion, and building cost-effective solutions for truckload and 3PL services.
- Knowledge of transportation modes such as dry van, reefer, flatbed, intermodal, partial, and expedited shipments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with dispatch, operations, and carrier management teams to ensure service quality and on-time performance.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with diverse customers and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with CRM tools, basic data analysis, and use of standard office software to track sales activity and performance.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple opportunities.
- Prior experience in freight brokerage, trucking, or supply chain services is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
