Experience, Skills, and Education Requirements:
- Demonstrate at least two years of success in sales, proving that at least 60 new customer relationships were built within the last year.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred with nearly perfect grammar.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel & Outlook Emails), and overall advanced computer competence required.
- Two years of Industrial Gas industry experience with knowledge of welding processes and gas applications preferred.
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, coachability, interpersonal, organizational, and verbal/written communications skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. High School diploma or GED required.
Overall Job Responsibilities:
- Follow a predefined Sales Process.
- Call on established accounts as frequently as deemed necessary to service their needs.
- Make cold calls on prospective accounts at a rate of 75% of all daily calls.
- Sell complete line of gases & welding supplies. Suggest equipment upgrades & gas mode changes as customer usage warrants.
- Improve profitability of existing accounts by fully understanding value propositions.
- Sell within company pricing guidelines authorized by Sales Manager.
- Negotiate and sign long-term/contractual Product Supply Agreements with customers.
- Become technically competent in welding process & gas applications through company sponsored training or vendors’ schools. Learn SYOXSA part numbers.
- Prepare quotes or provide the Sales Manager information to prepare quotes. Submit quotes on time. Acquire competitive bid information and pass on to management. Learn of and participate in Local, State, and Federal Government Bids.
- Accountable for providing accurate and complete information for account creation and pricing setup.
- Conduct competitive intelligence.
- Participate in marketing plans, sales promotions, and new product launches.
- Establish an annual plan and execute against this plan.
- Utilize a prescribed Customer Resource Management (CRM) tool in order to manage a sales pipeline.
- Conduct customer inventory checks and “Audits” of gas cylinders & hardgoods on a regular basis.
- Place orders with local branch for timely shipment.
- Use vendors to assist with demonstrations and sales.
- Assist the Sales Manager and Operations Manager as requested.
- Collect payments and resolve billing issues directly with customers.
- Attend sales meetings, safety meetings, general weekly meetings, etc.
- Submit weekly call reports on a timely basis.
- Always follow SYOXSA and customers’ safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Generate Leads and prepare Quotes for New and Existing Customers.
- Maintain technical competency in products that SYOXSA sells.
- Achieve “Total Customer Satisfaction”.
- Maintain proper flow of accurate paperwork. Submit reports on time.
- Function as a team member and be responsive to management.
- Follow company and customer safety rules.
- Perform daily cold calls to new potential customers looking to speak with a decision maker.
- Send new quotes and follow-up on existing quotes to customers.
- Follow up and respond to customer emails within 24 hours (preferably less).
- Review and manage existing customer accounts’ gas + rent pricing, cylinder balances, delivery fees, POs, etc.
- Visit a potential customer in-person who is eager to begin receiving SYOXSA’s products and services or existing customers for new product deliveries, installations, or cylinder audits.
- Resolve any customer issue that Customer Service cannot (i.e. invoicing, AR, delivery issue, etc.).
- Update CRM detailing the result of the calls from the prior week and the planned calls for the following week.
- Advise the Purchasing manager on any needed items or parts for new/existing customer orders.
- Ensure customers are paying their bills within their payment terms (preferably sooner).
- Schedule important Potential Customer meetings for the Territory Manager and the Sales Manager to attend.
- Review Monthly Sales result vs. Budget and explain any significant differences.
- Ensure all cylinder rent and cylinder lease invoices are created correctly before month close.
- Advise the Purchasing manager on any needed items or parts for new/existing customer orders.
- Schedule important Potential Customer meetings for the Territory Manager and the Sales Manager to attend.
- Leverage IWDC Vendor Relationships to schedule joint sales calls and create new product sales opportunities.
- Review Quarterly Sales result vs. Budget and explain any significant differences.
- Review annual customer Product Supply Agreements (PSA) and advise the Sales Manager on soon-to-expire agreements.
- Create your own Annual Sales Projection after the first 6 months in agreement with the Sales Manager.
- Strategize on new markets or new products to sell and bring in new customers the following year.
- Define and review with the Sales Manager your Annual Training Plan to take from IWDC Vendors or other SYOXSA suppliers, etc.
- Review annual customer Product Supply Agreements (PSA) and advise the Sales Manager on soon-to-expire agreements.
