The Opportunity
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for driving profitable revenue growth through the acquisition of new clients and the development of strategic relationships within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and CDMO organisations.
This position requires a highly motivated professional with a proven ability to identify opportunities, generate qualified leads, manage complex sales cycles, and build long-term client partnerships. The successful candidate will work closely with PSC Biotech's recruitment, operational, and technical teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet client objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the life sciences industry.
- Generate and qualify leads through market research, networking, industry events, referrals, and direct business development activities.
- Manage the full business development lifecycle, including prospecting, client engagement, solution presentations, proposal development, commercial negotiations, contract execution, and opportunity closure.
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Executive Leadership functions.
- Prepare proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), pricing structures, and commercial agreements in collaboration with internal teams.
- Partner with recruitment, operations, and technical subject matter experts to ensure client requirements are fully understood and successfully delivered.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity pipelines, forecasts, and account plans.
- Identify strategic accounts and develop account growth plans to expand PSC Biotech's service offerings within client organisations.
- Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned key accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership development.
- Conduct business reviews to understand evolving client needs and identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and service expansion.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks.
- Consistently achieve or exceed established sales, revenue, account growth, and retention targets.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years' experience in business development, sales, account management, staffing services, or client relationship management.
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, lead generation, client acquisition, and business growth.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales and revenue targets.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, or similar systems.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel for client meetings, industry conferences, networking events, and business development activities.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Experience selling professional services, consulting services, engineering services, managed services, or staffing solutions.
- Knowledge of life sciences disciplines, including Quality Assurance, Validation, Regulatory Affairs, Engineering, Manufacturing, Automation, and Technical Operations.
- Established professional network within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or CDMO organisations.
- Experience managing and expanding strategic client accounts within a B2B environment.
