Territory Sales Representative
Indexed description
We are currently working with a long-established Western New York manufacturer that is looking to add a Territory Sales Representative to cover New York State, Western Pennsylvania, and Ontario, Canada.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys being in front of customers, understanding their processes, and bringing real solutions to the table. It is not an order-taking position. It is about building relationships, identifying opportunities, and working closely with an experienced engineering team to deliver custom products that genuinely improve performance for the customer.
For the right person, this is a chance to take ownership of a growing territory, develop new accounts, and build something meaningful while representing a company known for technical expertise, premium products, and a genuine commitment to customer success.
This is a fully remote role with roughly 50% travel across the territory.
What You'll Do
- Manage and grow an existing book of business across New York State, Western PA, and Ontario
- Develop new business through proactive prospecting, outreach, and industry networking
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with customers across engineering, operations, and purchasing
- Conduct on-site visits to understand customer processes and recommend tailored solutions
- Partner with an internal engineering team to develop custom product specifications
- Communicate product value through documented performance improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains
- Maintain accurate pipeline and account activity using CRM tools
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity within the territory
- Represent the company at trade shows, customer visits, and industry events
- Travel regularly throughout the territory to support existing customers and develop new opportunities
What We're Looking For
- Some experience in technical or industrial sales, or a background in manufacturing or applications with a strong interest in moving into a field sales role
- A hunter mentality with the drive to develop new accounts and build a territory from the ground up
- Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to navigate technical, relationship-driven sales processes
- Self-directed and organized, with the ability to manage a large territory independently
- Comfortable working in a technical environment and motivated to learn complex, custom products
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience with CRM tools and Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time within the territory
- Valid driver's license and ability to occasionally travel to Ontario, Canada
