Avionics Regional Sales Manager

This is a remote position with significant travel required to meet with clients, visit operators and maintenance facilities, attend industry events, and maintain a visible presence within the aviation community.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities for avionics modifications, upgrades, installations, repair services, and connectivity solutions.
- Develop strategic sales plans to expand Yingling Aviation's avionics customer base and increase market share.
- Generate leads through networking, customer referrals, industry events, and proactive outreach efforts.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with aircraft owners, operators, chief pilots, directors of maintenance, fleet managers, and aviation stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring exceptional customer service and responsiveness throughout the sales cycle.
- Conduct regular customer visits to understand operational needs and identify opportunities for additional avionics services.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of avionics systems and aircraft integration to effectively present Yingling Aviation's avionics capabilities and solutions.
- Consult with customers regarding upgrade options, regulatory requirements, aircraft compatibility, and operational benefits.
- Collaborate with technical teams to develop tailored proposals that align with customer objectives and aircraft requirements.
- Monitor aviation industry trends, emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and competitor offerings to identify growth opportunities.
- Maintain awareness of OEM developments, supplemental type certificates (STCs), and new avionics products entering the market.
- Provide leadership with market intelligence and recommendations to support business development initiatives.
- Partner with Avionics Operations, Program Management, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to develop accurate quotations and project schedules.
- Facilitate seamless handoffs from the sales process through project execution while ensuring customer expectations are effectively managed.
- Support contract negotiations and assist in resolving customer concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
- Represent Yingling Aviation at trade shows, industry conferences, OEM events, and customer functions.
- Promote the organization's reputation as a premier provider of avionics solutions through active participation in aviation organizations and networking opportunities.
- Maintain a strong professional presence within the aviation community to foster long-term partnerships.
- Travel extensively within the assigned territory to conduct customer meetings, aircraft visits, industry events, and business development activities.
- Maintain a consistent field presence to strengthen relationships and identify emerging opportunities.
- Minimum of five (5) years of sales experience within the aviation industry, preferably focused on avionics sales, avionics MRO, aircraft modifications, or related technical aviation services.
- Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding sales goals and revenue targets.
- Strong understanding of avionics systems and technologies, including but not limited to:
- Flight deck modernization programs
- ADS-B compliance solutions
- Connectivity and Wi-Fi systems
- Cabin management systems
- Navigation and communication systems
- Radar and weather systems
- Satellite communications
- Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) processes
- FAA regulatory requirements impacting avionics installations
- Established relationships within the aviation industry, including:
- Corporate flight departments
- Aircraft management companies
- Directors of Maintenance
- Chief Pilots
- OEM representatives
- FBOs
- Charter operators
- Aircraft owners and operators
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences and developing trusted partnerships.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into customer-focused solutions.
- Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while effectively managing priorities, travel schedules, and sales pipelines.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent aviation industry experience may be substituted for formal education.
- Willingness and ability to travel 50–75%, including overnight travel, to support customer engagement and business development activities.
