The Business Development Manager will provide business development support to the firm’s Real Estate Group.
Business Development Manager Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies dto cultivate business with current and prospective clients.
- Craft and maintain high quality, tailored pitch materials and responses to RFPs with meaningful ideas and creativity to shape strategic pursuits.
- Identify and execute cross-selling opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Director of Business Development and practice group leadership to develop and oversee annual business plans and practice group budget.
- Demonstrate professional presence and attend firm leadership, partners, and all practice group meetings to provide business development updates.
- Conduct client, prospect, industry, competitor and market analysis to inform targeted business development efforts.
- Oversee compilation of practice group directory and award submissions for publications such as Chambers.
- Collect matter data for inclusion in the firm’s experience database.
- Develop systems to help track progress on practice groups priorities.
- Assist with the coordination of practice group events, sponsorships, advertisements and speaking engagements.
- Collaborate with attorneys to develop individual practice plans and support key initiatives.
- Collaborate with the firm’s communications team to effectively promote the successes of the practices, including identifying media, publishing and speaking opportunities that align with the profile-raising objectives of the practices.
Business Development Manager Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or any combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Minimum five (5) years of marketing experience in a law firm setting.
- Experience working with a privacy and cyber practice is highly beneficial.
- Experience managing a direct report.
- Knowledge in developing pitches and proposals.
- Knowledge in developing and delivering engaging presentations, particularly using PowerPoint.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and persuasively.
- Strong project and process management experience.
- Analytical skills to interpret data and trends, informing strategic business development efforts.
- Sound business judgment and decision-making capabilities.
