Business Development Manager

Summary:

Our client is a major global market leader in their sector but still relatively new to Japan.

Leveraging a global track record and building upon a solid local foundation, you will be responsible for developing B2B end user opportunities in collaboration with partners.

Responsibilities:

• Prospect, research, identify, and pursue new business opportunities within assigned segments and markets to drive sustainable financial growth.
• Evaluate and implement strategic business plans for opportunity development, including setting sales targets and budgets.
• Initiate, lead, and manage the end-to-end process of building, qualifying, and establishing cooperative contracts across sales channels.
• Collaborate with internal teams to target and secure closure of key client opportunities within assigned segments.
• Conduct outbound market research and analysis to identify potential partners aligned with the company’s vision, target segments, and pricing strategy.
• Attend trade shows and speak at conferences to build relationships, strengthen brand presence, and identify new business opportunities.
• Maintain deep knowledge of the industry, competitive landscape, and market trends to support strategic planning and act as an expert for internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Experience in sales, business development, account management with a proven track record of developing new accounts and driving revenue growth.
• Experience selling automotive technology solutions, either software or hardware.
• Experience selling telematics or fleet management solutions a distinct advantage.
• Comfortable working in a startup environment and able to coordinate with international colleagues.
• Fluent in Japanese and English.
