We are seeking a customer-focused, energetic, and results-driven Regional Sales Manager to drive growth throughout West Germany, with a primary focus on the Dortmund, Düsseldorf, and Cologne region. This individual will be responsible for developing existing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and expanding DETECT's presence across industrial and OEM markets.
The ideal candidate is an experienced technical sales professional with a background in electronic components, sensors, relays, switches, connectors, electromechanical products, or customized engineering solutions. The role will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through commercial negotiations to closure, while serving as a key link between customers and internal teams.
What You'll Do
Territory Management & Business Development
- Manage, maintain, and further develop existing customer relationships throughout Western Germany.
- Identify, approach, and acquire new customers to expand the business.
- Own the new business development process, including lead generation, qualification, opportunity management, and closure.
- Develop and execute territory growth strategies aligned with company sales and profit objectives.
- Drive profitable sales growth within the assigned territory and achieve bookings, revenue, and profitability targets.
- Coordinate with internal technical resources and channel partners to maximize business opportunities.
Customer & Market Development
- Conduct customer visits and present, promote, and advise customers on DETECT products and solutions.
- Analyze customer needs and develop tailored technical and commercial solutions.
- Build strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, manufacturers' representatives, and key industry stakeholders.
- Initiate and manage relationships with decision-makers and influential contacts within prospective customer organizations.
- Leverage industry knowledge and market relationships to penetrate new accounts and secure long-term growth opportunities.
Commercial Management
- Negotiate pricing, quotations, contracts, and commercial agreements through successful closure.
- Ensure profitable bookings from targeted customers.
- Manage customer-specific projects and coordinate requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop regular business reviews for key accounts and growth opportunities.
Strategy, Reporting & Collaboration
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and business risks.
- Systematically capture customer requirements and provide valuable market feedback to Product Development and Marketing teams.
- Generate regular sales funnel, bookings, pipeline, and activity reports.
- Collaborate effectively across sales, product management, engineering, customer service, and operations teams to support customer success.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline; equivalent technical or commercial experience will also be considered.
- Proven B2B field sales experience within technical manufacturing, industrial automation, electronic components, sensing technologies, electromechanical products, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success developing new business while managing and growing existing customer relationships.
- Experience working with OEM customers, distributors, manufacturers' representatives, or channel partners.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and account management skills.
- Knowledge of electronic components, sensors, relays, switches, connectors, or customized engineering solutions is highly desirable.
- Fluent German language skills and good English skills are required.
- Willingness to travel approximately 60% throughout the assigned territory.
