Role Description The Business Development Manager / Community Liaison — Home Care is a full-time, on-site role based in Somerset, NJ. This position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with referral sources such as healthcare providers, senior centers, community organizations, and local businesses. The role includes identifying new business opportunities, conducting outreach and networking, and representing Seniors Helping Seniors Central NJ at community events, presentations, and meetings. Day-to-day tasks involve developing and implementing local marketing initiatives, tracking and reporting on lead generation and conversion, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure a smooth intake process and high-quality client experience. The individual in this role will also engage with families and prospective clients, explaining services, answering questions, and supporting them through the decision-making process.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new referral relationships through proactive outreach, networking, and community engagement across the territory
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, rehab facilities, assisted living communities, senior centers, discharge planners, and other elder-care professionals
- Present and clearly communicate our services and peer-caregiver differentiator to referral partners and prospective families
- Manage the territory by scheduling visits, following up on leads, and ensuring consistent partner engagement
- Guide prospective families through service agreements, ensuring a smooth start to care
- Coordinate with our operations team to ensure seamless onboarding of new clients
- Track outreach, partner contacts, and pipeline activity in the agency's CRM system
Qualifications
- Business development and sales skills, including relationship building, lead generation, and account management.
- Community outreach and networking skills, with the ability to represent the organization professionally at events and meetings.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect effectively with diverse audiences.
- Organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet targets.
- Comfort working in the senior care or healthcare environment, with empathy, patience, and a service-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency with basic office software and CRM or contact management tools to track outreach and follow-up activities.
- Ability to work primarily on-site and travel locally for meetings and community events as needed.
- Previous experience in home care, senior services, healthcare, or related fields, and a valid driver’s license are strongly beneficial.
