£70,000 - £85,000 per annum + Bonus + Company Car Allowance
Our client, a specialist provider of power quality solutions, is seeking a proactive and commercially driven Business Development Manager to support its continued growth across the UK electrical infrastructure market. This is a niche opportunity for a business development professional with experience in electrical engineering, power systems, or industrial equipment sales to play a key role in expanding market presence and driving long-term revenue growth.
The Company
This business designs, manufactures, installs, and services innovative power quality solutions from its Midlands facility. The company supports industrial, commercial, and infrastructure customers nationwide with technologies including Active Harmonic Filters, Power Factor Correction (PFC) systems, and continuous power quality monitoring equipment. As the UK partner for specialist products, they are at the forefront of helping customers improve electrical reliability, efficiency, and compliance across increasingly complex power systems. The business offers a collaborative environment where employees are empowered to take ownership, build strong customer relationships, and directly influence the company's growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business development activity across key UK electrical and infrastructure markets.
- Identify and develop new opportunities within utilities, infrastructure, industrial and renewable energy sectors.
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors, panel builders, consultants, specifiers, distributors and end users.
- Influence technical specifications during the early design stages of projects to secure future opportunities.
- Track upcoming projects, investment programmes and market activity across infrastructure, utilities and renewable energy developments.
- Promote Power Capacitors' portfolio of harmonic mitigation, power factor correction and power quality monitoring solutions.
- Qualify opportunities and provide technical guidance and budgetary pricing support to prospective customers.
- Work closely with internal sales and engineering teams to support proposal development and convert opportunities into orders.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in business development, technical sales, or account development within electrical engineering, power systems, industrial equipment, or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of three-phase electrical systems.
- Demonstrable success generating and developing new business opportunities.
- Experience engaging with contractors, panel builders, consultants, or engineering stakeholders.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with power quality solutions, including harmonics, power factor correction, surge protection or electrical monitoring systems.
- Established network within UK electrical infrastructure markets.
- Experience working with water utilities, infrastructure projects, renewable energy developments or industrial customers.
