Business Development Manager - Corporate Travel (TMC)

$90,000 - $120,000 + Super + Uncapped Commission


Are you an experienced Business Development Manager within a Corporate Travel Management Company ready to take the next step in your career?


Join an established, technology-driven Corporate Travel Management Company (TMC) where you'll drive new business, build strong corporate relationships, and deliver innovative travel management solutions. Backed by an experienced operations and implementation team, you'll have everything you need to confidently win new business and grow your portfolio.


The Role


In this role you'll take ownership of new business acquisition managing the full sales lifecycle from prospecting through to contract negotiation and implementation handover. You'll engage with senior decision-makers to understand their travel programmes, identify opportunities to improve their travel management strategy, and deliver tailored corporate travel solutions that provide genuine value to their business.


Responsibilities:


  • Identify and secure new corporate travel opportunities across Australia and New Zealand
  • Develop and manage a healthy pipeline of qualified prospects
  • Generate new business through networking, referrals, outbound prospecting and strategic business development activities
  • Own the complete sales cycle from initial engagement through to contract execution
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand prospective clients' travel programmes, travel spend, traveller requirements and travel policy objectives
  • Present tailored corporate travel management solutions that address each client's unique business needs
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, business cases and RFP responses
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and successfully close new business opportunities
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitor offerings and emerging travel technology
  • Work collaboratively with Implementation, Operations and Account Management teams to ensure seamless client onboarding
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and pipeline reporting


Skills & Experience:


  • Proven Business Development or Sales experience within a Corporate Travel Management Company (TMC).
  • Demonstrated success securing new corporate travel accounts while consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation through to negotiation and contract close.
  • Strong understanding of corporate travel programmes, travel policy and managed travel solutions.
  • Experience preparing proposals, tenders and RFP responses.
  • Commercially minded with a consultative, solution-selling approach and exceptional presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of travel management technology, online booking solutions and CRM systems.
