Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Altona, VIC, responsible for driving growth and strengthening TSS Sensitive Freight’s presence across Australia and New Zealand. This role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and managing relationships with existing and prospective clients, and developing tailored solutions that align with the sensitive freight needs of diverse industries. The Business Development Manager will prepare proposals and quotations, lead contract negotiations, and collaborate closely with operations, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure service commitments are met. Day-to-day tasks include conducting market research, maintaining a robust sales pipeline, tracking performance against targets, and providing regular reporting and insights to leadership. The role also requires representing the company at industry events, client meetings, and site visits, while promoting TSS Sensitive Freight’s specialised capabilities and high service standards.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within transport, logistics, or related industries.
- Strong relationship-building, stakeholder management, and customer service skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients across multiple sectors.
- Commercial acumen and negotiation skills, including experience preparing proposals, pricing, and contracts to meet revenue and margin targets.
- Solid understanding of logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations, with the ability to translate complex service offerings into clear solutions for customers.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to present to individuals and groups.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office (or equivalent) for managing pipelines, forecasting, and reporting.
- High level of organisation, time management, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client sites, customer meetings, and industry events as required.
